Gallois, Lucien

 

Born 1857 in Metz; died 1941 in Paris. French geographer. Professor at the Sorbonne from 1893.

Gallois was a representative of the French school of human geography. He did research on general geography and on cartography. In 1894, jointly with Vidal de la Blache, he founded the journal Annales de Géographie. In 1918, after the death of Vidal de la Blache, he became editor of the geographical series Géographie Universelle.
