Goodrich, Annie W. (Warburton)

(1866–1954) nursing educator; born in New Brunswick, N.J. Institutor of the first bachelor's degree in nursing while dean of the Yale University School of Nursing (1919–34), her drive and convictions led to the professionalization of nursing training in America. Known for her brilliance, wit, and vitality, she was a leader in state and federal nursing organizations.
