Gold FrancAn accounting currency used by the Bank for International Settlements between 1930 and 2003. The gold franc was equal in value to 0.290 grams of fine gold, which was also the peg used by the Swiss franc for a time. The BIS replaced the gold franc with Special Drawing Rights. |
