Goléa, el
an oasis and town in the northern part of the Sahara, in Algeria’s Oasis department. Population, 13,500 (1966). It is linked to Ghardaïa by highway. El Goléa has 200,000 date palms, of which 80.000 are productive, as well as citrus and other fruit trees. Dried dates and fruits are produced. Water is provided by artesian wells. There is an airport nearby.
