A gene on chromosome 17q12-q21 that encodes a GTP-binding protein of the ADP-ribosylation factor (ARF) family; it has a nuclear localisation signal and a very high guaninine-nucleotide exchange rate, and may be involved in membrane-associated intracellular trafficking.Molecular pathology
ARL4D mutations are associated with Bardet-Biedl syndrome.
