Location:Off Highway 156, 11 miles south of San Juan Bautista on San Juan Canyon Road. Trailers are not recommended.
Facilities:Camping and picnic facilities, hiking and nature trails, observatory with 30-inch telescope.
Activities:Camping, hiking, educational exhibits.
Special Features:At 3,169 feet in elevation, peak offers vistas of San Benito Valley,Monterey Bay, and the Santa Lucia Mountains east of Big Sur. TheFremont Peak Observatory is open for public programs on selectedevenings.
