Georges Vedel


Vedel, Georges

 

Born July 5, 1910, in Auch, Gers Department. French jurist and public figure, specialist in the field of state and administrative law. Vedel graduated from the department of law and literature of the Academy of Toulouse in 1934 and taught at the law departments of the Academy of Poitiers in 1937-39 and of the Academy of Toulouse from 1939 to 1948. Since 1948 he has been professor of the law department of the Sorbonne; he was dean of this department from 1962 to 1967 and again since 1970.
