Gez Darya

Gez Darya

 

a river in the far western part of Kashgaria, in China. Its source is in the western K’unlun Mountains. The Gez Darya is 345 km long and its basin area is 14,600 sq km. Its upper and middle reaches are in a broad mountain valley, and the lower reaches are on the Kashgar plain. For many years the average discharge of water has been 22 cu m per sec. The waters of the Gez Darya are used entirely for irrigation in oases.
