George Washington's Grist Mill Historical State Park
Location:On Mount Vernon Memorial Highway (Route 235), 0.25 miles south from US 1, or 3 miles west of the Mount Vernon Estate.

Activities:Interpretive programs (seasonal).
Special Features:The present grist mill is a reconstruction of the mill George Washington built and operated for almost three decades. Replicas of machinery are on display, and exhibits explain how the mill operated. Visitors can watch the water-powered wheel grind grain into flour just as it did 200 years ago.
