Population, 22,000 (1970). Gorki has a flax-treatment plant, a butter and cheese plant, a cannery (producing fruits, vegetables, and pickled products), a juice and extract plant, and a plant producing rein-forced-concrete items. There is also extraction of peat. The Byelorussian Agricultural Academy is located in Gorki.
