Gorytus
Gorytus
a wooden case for bows and arrows, used mainly by the Scythians from the end of the sixth century B.C . to the beginning of the third century B.C . Luxurious goryti covered with gold plating and decorated with reliefs are known through findings in Scythian barrows at Solokha and Cher-tomlyk (fourth century B.C .). A gorytus is depicted on a golden Scythian vase from the Kul’-Oba barrow (fourth century B.C.).
