Goblin Valley State Park
Goblin Valley State Park
Location:Between Green River and Hanksville, off SR 24.
Facilities:24 campsites, group camp, showers, modern restrooms (é), vault toilets, picnic areas, observation shelter, visitor center, museum, hiking trails.
Activities:Camping, hiking, mountain biking.
Special Features:Park is the site of intricately eroded rock formations that create an atmosphere of unearthly scenery. Exposed cliffs reveal parallel layers of rock bared by erosion. Because of the uneven hardness of sandstone, some areas resist erosion better than others. The softer material is removed by wind and water, leaving thousands of unique geologic "goblins."
