Location:45 miles northeast of Tonopah via US 6, NV 376, and Monitor Valley Road.
Facilities:No developed facilities. Camping and picnic facilities are available onnearby public lands or at the US Forest Services's Pine CreekCampground in the Monitor Valley, 20 miles to the north.
Activities:Guided tours (during summer months).
Special Features:Belmont Courthouse, built in 1876, was the seat of Nye Countygovernment until 1905. The partially restored building offers a glimpseinto Nevada's colorful past, when Belmont was a boomtown due to silvermining in the area. Visitors to the courthouse are advised that thereno public park facilities or tourist services in Belmont, and gasolinemay not be available there.
