Georgievskaia, Susanna Mikhailovna
Born May 10 (23), 1916, in Odessa. Soviet Russian writer. Graduated from Leningrad University in 1935.
Georgievskaia published her first works in 1939. She took part in the Great Patriotic War. She has written children’s tales and stories, including Galia’s Mother (1947), Grandma’s Sea (1949), Little Ivanov (1950), Youth (1953), and Tarasik (1959). Such stories as “The Golden Word” (1955), drawn from the life of contemporary Tuva, “Young People” (1961), and “Twice Two Makes Four” (1965) are addressed to the adult reader. She was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War Second Class and various medals.
