Google Sites

A website authoring and hosting service that is part of Google's G Suite. Google Sites provides templates for people to fill in the blanks with images, text and links. Sites is a collaborative service that lets multiple people work on the project. Users must have their own domain name to create a Google Site, which becomes part of the URL. See G Suite and Google.

This Encyclopedia as a Google Site

An existing website can be copied to Google Sites for backup or to generate a template from which to develop a new site. As a test, the website of this encyclopedia was published on Google Sites. It took less than a minute to publish a complete working copy of computerlanguage.com. The Google Site URL, which is no longer valid, looked like this: sites.google.com/computerlanguage.com/website/home.
