Gel’d, Pavel Vladimirovich

 

Born Dec. 7 (20), 1911, in Kiev. Soviet physical chemist and corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1970). Member of the CPSU since 1944.

After graduating from the Ural Polytechnic Institute in 1938, Gel’d worked there, and he has been chairman of one of its subdepartments since 1952. His research has been devoted primarily to working out physical chemistry problems of pyrometallurgical processes. Gel’d was awarded the Order of the Red Star and medals.
