Frolov, Ivan Timofeevich

 

Born Sept. 1, 1929, in the village of Dobroe, Dobroe Raion, now in Lipetsk Oblast. Soviet philosopher. Corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1976). Member of the CPSU since 1960.

Frolov graduated from the department of philosophy of the M. V. Lomonosov Moscow State University in 1953. From 1952 to 1965 he worked as an editor, first in Moscow and then in Prague. Between 1965 and 1968 he was engaged in party work. From 1968 to 1977 he was editor in chief of the journal Voprosy filosofii. Frolov’s work is in the area of dialectical materialism, philosophical problems in contemporary natural science, and the social and philosophical problems of the scientific and technological revolution. Frolov has been awarded two orders as well as various medals.
