Glass-Fabric Laminate
Glass-Fabric Laminate
a laminated plastic material made up of glass fabric (filler) impregnated with synthetic resin (binder). The fabric can be single-layer or multilayer (three-dimensional fabric) and can differ in both weave (cord, plain, satin) and fiber composition. Ordinarily, several layers of fabric, usually the single-layer type, are used in producing glass-fabric laminates.
Glass-fabric laminates are used as structural materials for sheets and large-scale items with complex shapes. They are also used as electrical insulating material in electrical engineering and radio engineering.
