Glycated hemoglobin A1, glycohemoglobin A1, glycosylated hemoglobin, hemoglobin A1 The sum of negatively charged, post-translationally glycosylated Hb A1, which includes Hb A1a, A1b, and A1c; GHA1 is a reliable marker for controlled DM; the higher the HbA1, the poorer the control, and possibly, the less compliant the Pt in taking medication; Hb A1c is the most abundant GHA1 measured clinically Ref range > 12% poor glucose control; < 8% good glucose control.
