Feigin, Gerasim Grigor’evich

 

Born Nov. 29 (Dec. 12), 1901; died Mar. 18, 1921. Komsomol organizer. Hero of the Civil War of 1918–20. Member of the Communist Party from November 1917. Member of the Russian Communist League of Youth (RKSM) from December 1917.

Feigin, the son of an office worker, became chairman of the Vladimir provincial committee in 1918. He also edited the journal Iunost’ (Youth), which was published in Vladimir. In 1919 and 1920 he was deputy commissar and later commissar of regiments on the Southern and Western fronts. He was wounded in action.

Beginning in 1920, Feigin led an especially active public life. He was a member of the Pokrov district committee of the RKSM, a member of the Western Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist League of Youth of Byelorussia, secretary of the Ivanovo-Voznesensk provincial committee of the RKSM, and a member of the Ivanovo-Voznesensk provincial committee of the RCP(B). He was a delegate to the Second and Third Congresses of the RKSM in 1919 and 1920 and to the Tenth Congress of the RCP(B) in 1921.

Feigin perished during the suppression of the Kronstadt Anti-Soviet Rebellion.
