Froome, Chris

(Christopher Clive Froome), 1985– British bicycle racer, b. Nairobi, Kenya. The most dominant road cyclist of the 2010s, he turned professional in 2007 and has ridden with Teams Konica Minolta, Barloworld (from 2008), and Sky (from 2010). Since joining Team Sky (and being treated in 2010–11 for bilharzia) he has finished second overall thrice (2011, 2014, 2016) in the Vuelta a España and won the race once (2017); won two Olympic bronze medals in time trials (2012, 2016); finished second overall in the Tour de France (2012), won the race four times (2013, 2015–17), and placed third (2018); and won the Giro d'Italia once (2018).
