DictionarySeetubercleGhon Tubercle
Ghon Tubercle a primary tubercular lesion, usually appearing in the lungs of children; named after the Czech physician A. Ghon, who studied it thoroughly in 1912. The Ghon tubercle first appears to be bronchial pneumonia, but caseous decay soon begins. A characteristic feature in the development of Ghon tubercles is a tendency to encapsulation and calcification (petrification). The origin and formation of Ghon tubercles often occur without outward clinical manifestations. Ghon tubercle
