Antimony Oxides

the compounds of antimony with oxygen, namely, Sb2O3, Sb2O4, and Sb2O5. Antimony trioxide occurs as colorless, readily sublimable crystals; it is obtained by the distillation roasting of antimony ores and is used in the textile industry and in the production of paints. The pentoxide Sb2O5 occurs as light yellow crystals; this oxide is obtained by the calcination of xSb2O5·yH2O and is used in the pharmaceutical industry and in the production of glass, ceramics, paints, varnishes, and textiles.
