Glauchau

a city in the German Democratic Republic, in the district of Karl-Marx-Stadt, on the Zwickauer Mulde River. Population, 32,500 (1969). Glauchau is the site of industry in textiles and machine building (auto bodies, transmissions, and machine tools). There is a nickel plant nearby in Sankt Egididien.
