city (1990 pop. 23,797), seat of Elkhart co., N Ind., on the Elkhart River; inc. 1868. Goshen is in a farm and dairy region; poultry is also raised and processed. Its manufactures include agricultural, transportation, and electronic equipment and paper, rubber, metal, and wood products. Amish and Mennonite colonies are in the area. Goshen College is there.
