Barvenkovo

a city, the center of Barvenkovo Raion, Khar’kov Oblast, UkrSSR. Located on the Sukhoi Torets River (Severnyi Donets basin). The city has a railroad station. Population in 1968, 14,300. Industry includes a mine equipment plant, food and light industry enterprises, and production of construction materials. Barvenkovo was founded in the second half of the 17th century. It has been a city since 1938.
