Igor Ekhielevich Dzialoshinskii
Dzialoshinskii, Igor’ Ekhiel’evich
Born Feb. 1, 1931, in Moscow. Soviet physicist. Corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1974).
Dzialoshinskii graduated from Moscow State University in 1953. From 1957 to 1965, he was on the staff of the Institute of Physical Problems of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. In 1965 he joined the staff of the Institute of Theoretical Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. In 1972 he was appointed a professor at Moscow State University.
Dzialoshinskii’s main works deal with quantum statistics and with the theory of weak ferromagnetism in antiferromagnetic substances.
Dzialoshinskii has been awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor.
