Barzas

an urban-type settlement in Kemerovo Oblast, RSFSR. Located on the Barzas River (Ob’ basin). It is the terminal of a railroad branch line, 50 km northeast of Kemerovo. Population in 1968, 5,600. Industry centers on forestry products—lumber, box board, mine timbers, and fir oil.
