(1947–88), US basketball player; full name Peter Press Maravich ; known as Pistol Pete. He played for the Atlanta Hawks 1970–74, the New Orleans Jazz (Utah Jazz from 1979) 1974–1980, and the Boston Celtics briefly in 1980. Basketball Hall of Fame (1987).
