Any of a series of mycotoxins which are produced by various moulds of the genera Aspergillus and Penicillium and are derivatives of l-phenylalanine and a compound related to coumarin; especially "ochratoxin A", produced chiefly by A. ochraceus and having the empirical formula C₂₀H₁₈ClNO₆.
