IV (born 1937), US politician; full name John Davison Rockefeller IV; known as Jay. A Democrat, he was governor of West Virginia 1977–85 and a US senator from that state 1985–2015. He is the great-grandson of John D. Rockefeller and the nephew of Nelson Rockefeller.
