Definition of myogen in English: myogennoun ˈmʌɪə(ʊ)dʒ(ə)n Biochemistry Originally: a protein found in muscle-plasma, believed to be the soluble precursor of myosin (now historical). Later (more fully "myogen A", "myogen B", "myogen I", "myogen II", etc.): any of a group of soluble proteins obtained by extraction of muscle with cold water, most of which have been identified as glycolytic enzymes.
