(born 1935), US writer; full name Calvin Marshall Trillin. He became a staff writer for The New Yorker magazine in 1963 and had a syndicated newspaper column 1986–95 and a weekly column in Time magazine 1995–2001. He was a columnist 1978–85 for The Nation, to which he has contributed a weekly satirical verse since 1990. Among his many books are Remembering Denny (1993), a story of a college friend, and Messages from my Father (1996).
