释义	micropolitan /ˌmīkrōˈpälətn / adjective Relating to an urban area with a population of at least 10,000 but less than 50,000: new, southern micropolitan areas have shown the greatest job growth in the last decade... They consist of one or more economic nodes - metropolitan or micropolitan statistical areas that serve as regional centers of economic activity - and the surrounding counties that are economically related to the nodes. In May 2004, BEA incorporated the definitions of the metropolitan and micropolitan areas, as revised in February 2004 by the Office of Management and Budget, and released estimates using the new definitions back to 1969. The strong growth in some of the new micropolitan areas might be a surprise.
