Any of various bulbous North American plants of the genera Toxicoscordion, Anticlea, and Zygadenus (family Melanthiaceae) which are toxic to humans and animals; especially (more fully meadow death camas) T. venenosum of western states, which has spikes of white or cream flowers and grass-like leaves.
