释义	Jacques Lucien Monod /ˈmɒnəʊ / (1910–76), French biochemist. Together with fellow French biochemist François Jacob (b.1920), with whom he was awarded a Nobel Prize in 1965, he formulated a theory to explain how genes are activated and in 1961 proposed the existence of messenger RNA.
