Quezon City

/A city on the island of Luzon in the northern Philippines; population 2,679,500 (est. 2007). It was established in 1940 and from 1948 to 1976 it was the capital of the Philippines.
Origin
Named after Manuel Luis Quezon (1878–1944), the first President of the republic.
