2Abnormal development of one or more types of blood cell (erythrocytes, leukocytes, or thrombocytes); any of a group of disorders characterized by this, presenting with anaemia, leukopenia, or thrombocytopenia (or any combination of these), and sometimes progressing to acute myeloid leukaemia.
