Any of a class of achondritic stony meteorites which originate from Mars and are rich in augite.
Origin
Early 20th century; earliest use found in Mineralogy Magazine. From the name of El Nakhla el Baharia, a village near Alexandria, Egypt, where the first examples of this kind of meteorite to be identified fell in 1911 + -ite.
