European economic area

1A group of European nations whose economies are in some way linked or integrated.
2Specifically (in form European Economic Area) a free-trade zone operative from 1994, composed of the states of the European Union (when first mooted, the European Economic Community), and certain members of the European Free Trade Association; abbreviated EEA.
