Relating to or denoting a group of English post-impressionist realistic painters of the 1930s, whose members included William Coldstream (1908–87) and Victor Pasmore (1908–98).Despite early links with such artists as Michael Andrews, Euan Uglow and John Bratby, he is not of the London School, the Kitchen Sink or the Euston Road.
