From the name of Nicodemus + -ism. Jung attributes the term (as Middle French Nicodemisme) to Calvin, although Calvin's Excuse, de Jehan Calvin, a Messieurs les Nicodemites only has the related terms Nicodeme, Nicodemiser, and Nicodemite. |
