3Inductive; of the nature of, or characterized by the use of, adduction.

Origin

Late 16th century; earliest use found in Andrew Willet (d. 1621), Church of England clergyman and religious controversialist. From post-classical Latin adductivus productive from classical Latin addūct-, past participial stem of addūcere + -īvus.
