释义 | Savi's warbler/ˌsaviz ˈwɔːblə/noun A migratory warbler, Locustella luscinioides (family Sylviidae), breeding in reed beds from Europe to central Asia, which resembles the reed warbler (Acrocephalus scirpaceus) but has a reeling song similar to that of the grasshopper warbler (L. naevia). OriginMid 19th century; earliest use found in William Yarrell (1784–1856), zoologist. From the genitive of the name of Paolo Savi, Italian zoologist and geologist, who first described this bird in 1824 + warbler. |
