A substance originally isolated from the bacteria Actinomyces subtropicus which consists of a sulphur-containing nucleoside bound to a siderophore, and has antibiotic activity against many types of bacteria.

Albomycin was used in the treatment of patients in the former U.S.S.R. in the 1950's, but has not been used clinically elsewhere..
