A substance originally isolated from the bacteria Actinomyces subtropicus which consists of a sulphur-containing nucleoside bound to a siderophore, and has antibiotic activity against many types of bacteria.
- Albomycin was used in the treatment of patients in the former U.S.S.R. in the 1950's, but has not been used clinically elsewhere..
