单词 | jakey |
释义 | jakey/ˈdʒeɪki/(also jakie) Scottish slang (originally and chiefly Glasgow ). Frequently derogatory noun A person who habitually drinks large quantities of cheap, strong alcohol, especially one who is homeless. Origin1980s. Probably from jake + -y. A suggested origin as a specifically use of Scots jaikie jackdaw seems less likely given the emphasis on alcohol rather than vagrancy in the recorded uses. |
