A code of practice regulating the corporate governance of all companies listed on the London Stock Exchange, especially with regard to remuneration of senior management.
Origin
1990s; earliest use found in The Evening Standard. From the name of Sir George Adrian Hayhurst Cadbury (b. 1929), a director of the Bank of England 1970–94 and head of the commission that produced the code in 1992 + code.
