A cubic oxide and hydroxide of antimony and copper, Cu2Sb2(O,OH)7, that belongs to the stibiconite group, varying in colour from yellowish green to blackish green and found as an alteration product of antimonial sulphide ores.
Origin
Mid 19th century. From the name of August F. W. Partz (fl. 1849–97), German-born U.S. assayer and mineralogist + -ite.
