1 Botany. Designating a type of placentation in which ovules are attached to the inner wall of a unilocular compound ovary towards but not at the bottom; relating to or characteristic of such placentation. Compare parietal. Now rare.
2 Anatomy. Located under the parietal lobe (of the brain) or the parietal bone (of the skull).
3 Surgery. Occurring or located beneath the abdominal wall or parietal peritoneum; specifically (of an injury) that does not penetrate the abdominal wall; resulting from non-penetrating trauma to the abdomen. Now rare.
