tich, titch small person or thing, from Little Tich, stage-name of Harry Ralph d.1928, English comedian, who was very small. Ralph got his nickname from his resemblance to Arthur Orton, known as the Tichborne claimant, who in 1866 claimed to be Roger Tichborne, heir to an English baronetcy, believed to have been lost at sea. Orton lost his case and was imprisoned for perjury
